The Hoover PD and Alabama TacticalOfficers Ass’n is hosting an 8-hr. S.W.A.T. Sniper Supervision Workshop on the above listed date. This course is designed for Administrators, Team Commanders, Team leaders or any other personnel who supervise and/or manage such programs. It will include topics such as: Selection, Training, Documentation, Use of Force, Weapon Systems, Ammunition & Ballistics, Mission Equipment, Stress Inoculation Training, Target Engagement Sequence, Operational Planning & Execution, Action Language, Target & Structure Assessments, Barrier Penetration, Sniper Utilization Survey, Qualification Course Design, Sniper Development Program and Post Shooting Procedures.

Instructor Bio:
Edwards currently serves as Captain over the Special Operations Division of the Warner Robins (GA) Police Department and is the Tactical Operations Commander. He has 17 years of operational experience with extensive deployments in both rural and urban environments. His experience encompasses operations, support, planning, management and leadership – both on-scene and behind-scene.
He is a GA-POST Certified Instructor, Firearms Instructor, Rifle Instructor, Level I Sniper, Level II Sniper and Advanced Sniper. Further areas of training and instruction include: Patrol Rifle Instructor (CenterMass, Inc.) CNBR Tactical Response (LSU), Hostage Rescue (HRT Training), Ballistic Shield Instructor (RBR), Low Light Tactics Instructor (Surefire Institute), Crisis Negotiator (FBI) and holds certificates in both Supervision and Management.
Edwards also serves as the US-Southeastern Regional Representative for the American Sniper Association and has been published in the American Sniper Association’s Quarterly Newsletter, SNIPER. Edwards has been an invited guest speaker at ASA’s Sniperweek Symposium and also conducts specialized sniper training for the Georgia Tactical Officers Association’s annual conferences.
